Optical Fiber (OPGW)

Optical Fiber has brought a revolution in the world of telecommunication and Power Control Systems. We are actively pursuing our field operations to establish optic fiber links between distant locations in Afghanistan and Pakistan, by laying optic fiber cables and installing OPGW Cables.

Under NLCC Project Afghanistan (USAID Project), we replaced shield wires with OPGW on the existing transmission lines and then installed all the allied equipment.

We also completed the testing and commissioning of all the OPGW sections, already available on the North East Power System (NEPS) of Afghanistan. This was entrusted to us as a turnkey project by Louis Berger/Black and Veatch JV (USA). NETRACON successfully completed the job.

NETRACON successfully installed OPGW including the fabrication and installation of peaks, over the existing 220kV transmission line from Nuruk to Dushanbe, in Tajikistan during a period of 60 days.

Similarly, in Pakistan, we were responsible for establishing an optic fiber link between Chashma and Ludewala (Sargodha), along 220kV Power Line for NTDC. NETRACON has established a few optic fiber cable links in Islamabad and surrounding areas, for PTCL. We believe in training engineers and technicians, on various techniques including installation, splicing, and OTDR testing of optic fiber cables. In this respect, we organize workshops to train junior engineers and technicians from Afghanistan and Pakistan which can contribute to strengthening and building of workforce in the region.
